Society is divided into classes with subtle social grading. Hospitality and courtesy are important at all levels. Use the right hand for greeting and passing items.

Respect the Muslim customs and beliefs. Smoking is prohibited in many public places. Informal dress is acceptable at most times. Women should cover their arms and legs and wear loose clothing. They should also cover their heads when entering mosques or other holy places, and when travelling in more rural areas.

Do not take photographs at military establishments, airports or any infrastructure, including bridges and dams or from aircraft.
