Moldovan specialities include:
- tocana (pork stew) served with watermelons and apples
- mititeyi (grilled sausages with onion and pepper)
- mamaliga (sticky maize pie) served with brinza (feta cheese)
There are over one hundred varieties of local wine, which can be excellent. Nistru brandy is a good accompaniment with desserts.
