Internal Transport

There are no regular domestic flights in Macedonia (Former Yugoslav Republic), although there are occasional flights between Ohrid and Skopje.

There are rail links from Skopje to Kumanovo in the north, to Stip in the east, to Gevgelija and Veles in the south, and to Bitola and Prilep in the southwest . InterRail One-Country Pass offers travel for 3, 4, 6 or 8 days in one month within Macedonia. An east-west road and rail route is being built, linking Tirana and Sofia.

The country has a well-developed bus network with frequent services from Skopje to Ohrid and Bitola. Visitors should bear in mind that long-distance buses need to be booked well in advance.
