Local cuisine tends to focus strongly on meat, including game, some seafood, and tropical fruit. Nyama choma (charcoal grilled meat, usually goat) is found in many restaurants and street stalls. Ugali (maize meal porridge) is a staple for Kenyans, although an acquired taste for most visitors. Curries can be found in most places, and reflect Indian home cooking. Chai (tea) and beer (particularly the Tusker brand) are popular.
