Internal Transport

Internal flights are the most suitable mode of transport for travelling south. Road surfaces are of reasonable quality making driving a worthwhile option for certain journeys. When travelling through the desert, it is essential that vehicles are well equipped as breakdown services and related facilities are either unavailable or minimal. If a vehicle has not been booked in advance, car hire can usually be arranged at most hotels, in towns, as well as on arrival at the airport. Since rail services are extremely slow, travelling by train is not advisable for long journeys.
